Located in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Santa Fe Community College (SFCC) is a two-year school offering more than 70 degree and certificate programs. Over 14,500 students are enrolled at SFCC with nearly 800 full and part-time faculty members.

About Santa Fe Community College

SFCC has grown rapidly since opening in 1983. The college boasts the local public radio and television station on campus, providing an ideal learning environment for media students. The college features a Visual Arts Center, an Early Childhood Development Center and an Instructional Technology Center, all geared to putting students first and helping them achieve their educational and career goals. The dual credit program enables local high school students to attend SFCC classes to earn both high school and college credit.

Ecologically Friendly Campus

Santa Fe Community College employs several environmentally friendly designs and equipment in order to reduce the school’s carbon footprint while increasing its intellectual sustainability. Among the changes made to increase their commitment to eco-friendly education are:

  • The school uses a bio mass boiler for more than 90% of their water heating.
  • The water in the therapeutic swimming pool is heated by a solar array.
  • Irrigation of campus landscaping uses treated effluent water.
  • All light fixtures are retrofitted to use T8 and T5 efficient lamps.
  • Fluorescent fixtures are recycled.
  • A recycling program diverts cardboard, plastic, and aluminum cans from landfills.
  • Exterior lighting complies with the New Mexico Night Sky Protection Act.
