Student Life

In 2008, the 15 sororities and fraternities raised nearly $100,000 for charity and contributed 5,500 hours of community service. In addition to Greek life, the school also has an active student government, and numerous other student organizations ranging from a group for student pharmacists to a gaming club to a Christian bible fellowship to a club for women in science, mathematics, engineering and technology. There is an organization for just about every member of the school's 13,000+ student body. The NDSU website includes a list of all present organizations at the school.
Athletics
NDSU recently became a Division I sports school. The North Dakota State Bisons participate in football, basketball, wrestling, and more. There are also teams in cross country, track and field, golf, softball, soccer and volleyball. One of the most interesting parts of the NDSU athletic program is that the school promotes an alcohol-free athletic rule. In other words, the school encourages students who participate in its sports teams not to drink.
