About Johnson County Community College
Founded in 1969, JCCC is the largest community college in the state of Kansas and one of the largest in the Midwest. Many students that graduate from JCCC move on to the University of Kansas or Kansas State University. At any given time, about 30,000 students (credit and non-credit) are in attendance at JCCC.
The college has over 100 transfer agreements with multiple four-year universities. Many students planning to transfer to four-year universities complete their general education courses at JCCC first. The college also offers more than 50 certificate programs in addition to the associate degrees, allowing career and community growth through continuing education.
Academics
JCCC offers an honors program, civic honors, international exchange programs and service learning for students enrolled at the college. The college is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. In addition, individual programs are accredited by associated professional organizations.
Student Life
Student athletes enjoy 18 sports on the intercollegiate level as well as special interest clubs, guest lecturers and more. Student associations sponsor concerts, plays, comedians, sports, ski trips and even movies on campus. Students enjoy a rich and varied number of academic and social opportunities.
