Everett Community College is a two-year college in Everett, Washington. The school features a high percentage of commuter students and has a large long distance learning program. The community college was founded in 1941 and features 13 closely-knit buildings. The school also features partnerships with local colleges in Washington state to allow students to seamlessly transfer their credits a four-year school if they choose to pursue their education beyond Everett CC.

Tuition and Academics

Everett Community College has a tiered tuition system that can be viewed here. As of May 2009, students who are residents of Washington state and taking between one and ten credits pay $75.80 per credit, while starting at ten credits, students begin being charged a flat tuition rate of $758.00. The rate increases for every credit taken.

Like many other community colleges, Everett Community College offers associate's degrees and certification in a wide variety of majors inlcuding aviation, graphic design, nursing, tribal enterprise management and many more.

Student Life at Everett Community College

In 2007, 27 percent of ECC's population were students of color. This is a part of the school's international mission to attract and maintain a diverse body of students. There is an on-campus cafe called the Cascade Range Cafe meant to help students meet each other (as the school is a commuter school, this can be difficult to do). There is also the Paperclip, a center where students can watch television while waiting for their next class to start. A library is housed in the same building.

The school also features several sports teams. Presently, there are men's sports in baseball, basketball, soccer, cross country and distance track. There are women's sports in cross country, distance track, basketball, softball, soccer and volleyball.

In 2010, the school plans to open a large fitness center and gym to replace the school's current fitness center. The ground breaking for the $24 million dollar project is set for summer 2009.
